The Taylor Lautner Workout

In Twilight Taylor is seen as not fat but scrawny with a decent amount of flab, so for the new film New Moon he adds on 30 pounds of muscle. Because he was very athletic when he was younger this was not hard, he trained for 9 months before New Moon, he was easily able to gain the muscle mass his body was ready to accommodate and he could move towards his body’s maximum efficiency very quickly.

Also because his life is mostly only acting he could spend most of his time working out where as usually it would take someone one or two years. He was very dedicated towards gaining more muscle because the director wanted someone with a more physical presence then Taylor Lautner and was considering casting someone else for the role of Jacob Black.

His new abs were not just a result of the 9 month training leading up to the shooting of New Moon His years of martial arts training created muscle density and muscle maturity normally not seen until someone reaches their mid-20’s. People who compete in martial arts gain power from tightening there core and over time it builds and defines the ab muscles. Taylor quickly put on 20 pounds of mass due to his age and the amount of muscles he gained was the natural amount he was supposed to have.

One of the Taylor Lautner workout secrets was that he went to the gym two hours a day, five days a week and ate six meals a day. Taylors personal trainer Jordan Yuam said “I use a technique called load under tension, and body torsi adjustments under loads, and it’s a system that utilizes fitness to contract the primary muscles disregarding stabilizers and secondary muscles. It is a unique approach that is not common.”
