Ab Circle Pro – Will It Work For You?

by Carol on May 28, 2009

abcirclprosmallThe Ab Circle Pro, like all other pieces of home fitness equipment, will work for you if you use it on a regular basis and as part of a lifestyle change.  For optimum health, weight loss and toning, you will need to do other exercise as well as using the Ab Circle Pro and, very importantly, you will need to take a long hard look at what you are eating and how much of it you are eating.  Remember, it is perfectly possible to get fat on healthy food if you’re eating mammoth portions of it. For my clients who love to snack, I recommend healthy snacks such as Brazil nuts, full of minerals and high in protein but also high in calories – a handful day is quite enough!

The Ab Circle Pro is billed as a treadmill for your abs and combines cardio exercise with abdominal toning.  This is a good addition to any exercise schedule, but must be combined with other types of exercise such as walking, swimming or cycling and also muscle toning exercises like lunges and squats.  The more toned muscle you have on your body, the better it will look and the more calories you will burn, even when you’re watching the TV or lying in bed.

Like most other people in the 40 plus age group I have to watch my weight and make an effort to get enough exercise, so as well as exercising at home I go to a Step class at the gym once a week.  I’ve been going to this class for around three months now and am still only at a beginner level in Step because I’m absolutely hopeless when it comes to left and right; unless the instructor points out the direction, you can guarantee that I will step with the wrong leg, or go the opposite way and be facing in the opposite direction from the rest of the class.

The instructor, having known me and my peculiarities for years, adds loads of arm waving, just for me.  She looks like she’s guiding a fighter plane in to land while yelling “Knee lift, left! Not that left, Carol – your other left!”  The first time I attended this class, I really felt the burn and my legs ached for two days afterwards.

Now, after three months, I still get the benefits of a good toning and cardio workout, but the burn is far less and I don’t get the muscle soreness.  My muscles have adapted and become capable of coping. Ideally I should change classes to challenge my body further – maybe I should try something like Latino-American Salsa HipHop. Oh help.

I received mines 3 weeks ago & the knee cups are not padded enough. My knees were sore for a week! But, I refused to let that deter me so I purchased a pair of volley ball pads to help out. I started on #2 (resistance). It’s not really hard, but, it’s not easy either.
I use it about 4 times a week & I can see a difference in my abs & hips!
It works but you have to be moviated enough to do it.

I have had mine for about a week, and I too have found it is a little rough on the knees. I think knee pads would help with that. I wish I could find some workout routines to use as I feel like just doing the Ab Circle for 15 minutes or so is not so motivating. Jury is still out on this one!

I turn the knee pads upside down cause my knees kept falling out. I too had sore knees, I do not anymore maybe cause i gave myself the weekend off, or turned the knee pads upside down. When i did that i had to hold my feet a different way too, that might be the reason my knees are not sore anymore. I do it everyday i am now up to 4 minutes each time.

I bought the abcircle about a week ago and have lost 4 1/2 lbs. already. My knees were only sore for the first two days. I also do all the recommended workouts on the dvd that was included. I follow the diet plan strictly, and I take the recommended protein shake as a snack or after working out. I thoroughly reviewed the enclosed booklet, and eat exactly the way it says to make a lifestyle change. I also take a dietary supplement twice a day, and I am very happy with the results I have been receiving.
