Question: Will the Malibu Pilates Chair challenge me? I’m a regular exerciser and consider myself fairly fit.
Answer: Yes the Malibu Pilates Chair will challenge you but how much is entirely up to you. Pilates is all about performing the exercises in good form using controlled and precise movements. Precise movements done correctly and slowly with the right muscles engaged are part of what makes Pilates so effective and challenging.
If you just start throwing yourself about (like I see in a lot of aerobics classes) you will not get the full benefit of the Pilates chair and you will increase your chances of picking up an injury.
If you have already done some basic Pilates Matwork, that is great; if not, the Malibu Pilates Chair is still perfect for you, but take the exercises slowly and concentrate on the correct form – using your muscles properly and always remembering to align your spine. And never hold your breath!
Once you have developed some core, pelvic, shoulder and lower body stability, you can attempt to do the more advanced exercises safely.
Rome was not built in a day; exercise carefully and think about what you are doing, and the Malibu Pilates Chair will help you develop the toned body you desire.
