You don’t have to enjoy exercising, you just need to do it. Even if it bores you rigid, you will still get good results if you stick with it. But there are many, many different kinds of exercise that will contribute towards weight loss and muscle toning, so why not try and find something you like?

Walking is always a good choice. A lot of people don’t think walking counts as exercise but believe me it does, especially if you stride along briskly and if you can find some hills to walk up – and so much the better if you can find some rough tracks to walk on.

That is an added bonus, believe it or not – it is harder to walk, but uneven ground will strengthen your stabilising muscles and improve your bone density also. Just make sure you always wear the correct footwear; if you’re going to be walking over rough terrain I would strongly suggest you wear proper walking boots that support your ankles, because if you step on a stone and cockle over, it is very easy to strain or even break your ankle – which is not a good idea at any time, especially if you are in the middle of nowhere on a windy hillside!

One major advantage of walking is that it’s free, you don’t need any fancy equipment to do it and being out in the fresh air is always beneficial; did you know that you only need 10 minutes sunshine on your arms and face to give you a good dose of vitamin Even on a cloudy day the sun’s rays get through, which is good news for anybody walking in England where the sun can be hidden for weeks on end.

Cycling is also a good way to exercise although if I were you I would avoid busy roads. Cycling uphill is a major fat and calorie burner and will rapidly condition your heart and lungs and strengthen both the front and backs of your legs. Swimming, although not weight-bearing, is also very good, especially if you have damaged, arthritic joints, and will give you long, lean muscles; even if you are a poor swimmer doing aquarobics or similar is a very good way to burn calories and tone muscle.

Q: I have been using the T-Bow Exercise System for a few weeks and have only lost 3lbs and haven’t noticed any change in my shape. I am about to give up! What am I doing wrong?

A: Don’t give up! You are doing everything right; as a Personal Trainer, I would be delighted with those results. What is happening is that you are building muscle at the same time as you are losing fat. Muscle weighs in much heavier than fat, but takes up much less space, and gives the sleek, toned curves that look so great.

Even better, muscle burns calories all the time – fat just sits there looking lumpy! So the scales may not say much weight difference, but your body composition is changing; you’ve probably lost around 6lbs of fat and gained 3lbs of muscle! Think of the World’s Strongest Man – he weighs in around 300lbs, which makes him obese according to the weighing scales – but you only have to look at him to see there’s not an ounce of fat on him.

Keep up with your regular use of The TBow Exercise system at an intensity that you can sustain. You should not be gasping for breath and moaning from muscle pain at the end of a workout – you’ll never be able to keep that up. Moderate intensity, 2 – 4 times a week will make you feel energized and full of life, and those excess inches will steadily melt away – and you’ll see and feel the difference. Even better, that excess fat will stay away. Keep rocking on the TBow.

Just to prove that real people use the T-Bow I’m creating some videos showing you what it can do.

If you like the T-Bow you may want to take a look at The Firm Wave Review I’ve written. The Firm Wave is similar to the T-Bow but is less expensive. Unfortunately it’s only available in the USA and Canada

I think the T-Bow Exercise System is the single best piece of home exercise equipment I’ve ever bought. I’m a Personal Trainer and believe me I’ve tried dozens of pieces of equipment, some cheap and some expensive. Almost all of them lie stacked up in a corner of my spare bedroom – now discarded as either totally useless or so complicated to use that it’s not worth the hassle setting them up.

The TBow on the other hand can be ready for use in seconds. Just slip it out from under the bed, turn it over and your ready to rock!

It can be used to give you a truly great cardio fat blasting workout, use it with the bands for strength training, use it for stretching and if you do Pilates use it to make your workout more challenging.

This versatile piece of kit really does it all and it’s great fun to boot. If I had to pick only one piece of exercise equipment to keep it would be this one it really is that good.

It pre-dates The Firm Wave by a number of years and is the original design. I also like The Firm Wave as it comes in at under $100 and will do the same job. I have 18 T-Bows which I use to teach classes and the ability to able to stack them is important (The Wave won’t stack).

Whether its The TBow or The Firm Wave don’t hesitate just get one, use it regularly, have fun and lose weight at the same time.

All the best,
