Hi Mary. First I would check with your health professional before starting any new exercise program and then although expensive I would start with a Personal Trainer who can assess your current fitness level and design a program that is effective and safe for you and who can also advise you on healthy eating.

Fast weight loss isn't a great idea slow and steady is best that way you're more likely to keep it off and not damage your body in the process. If you're injured you can't exercise so staying injury free is very important.

Professional advice is expensive but once you know what you're doing you can continue on your own if you have the self discipline.

Good luck and be safe.

I have 90 pounds to loose. I'm 44 and I always have been 120-135. I never dreamed that I would weigh what I do today. I don't know what exercise to do. Do I walk, do the wave and which tapes on what days for max. results. Please help me. How many colories should I eat a day? I want to loose in the fastest amount of time. Please tell me which exercise would be the best for fat and weight loss. Walking first and then work into the wave or begin with the wave altogether?

Thanks so much

Hi Amy,

Firstly you'll need to check with your health professional tell them what you want to do and get their advice as to whether it's safe for you.

With a back issue I'd recommend Pilates with a qualified Instructor (after you're cleared to exercise) it will help stabilise, mobilise and strenthen you safely and effectively. The last thing you want to do is make your problem worse because then you won't be able to exercise at all!

Good luck and let me know how you get on. Remember please be safe :)

Hi Carol,
I have some lower back problems and need to get into a excersie routine to strenghten my core muscles to suport my back. I am having some trouble finding a routine that does not make my back hurt, which ultimatly makes me quit. Do you think the Wave is something that I could do?

I like The Wave and think it will benefit me and my needs, but I am disappointed that they don't have a beginners DVD. The moves are a fast pace and it makes it hard to learn the moves. I'm uncoordinated and my balance is off, but I will continue to use it.

I have seen results on the wave .I feel the impact and it is a very cost effective workout. I do however want to know about the amount of calories are being burned.
